My Woodturning Journey

I have been woodturning since 1986,  my final year at school and have spent more than 40 years working in the woodworking trade as a Cabinet Maker. One of the aspects I enjoy most in my career is transforming felled trees into new and useful creations, giving timber a second life through my craftsmanship and thoughtful design.

Through my woodturning, I am always looking to develop my skills further and enjoy taking on projects that challenge traditional turning techniques. Rather than producing only conventional wood turned pieces, I take pride in creating unique and imaginative work than many woodturners might not attempt.

By combining wood and resin in selected projects, I can highlight the natural character, features and imperfections of the timber, turning them into part of the design and create one of a kind items. Above all, I have a deep respect for the wood itself, allowing each piece to influence the final form and tell its own story.
